Throwback Thursday: Watermark Apartments

Watermark Apartments

This week we review the Watermark Apartments in Kangaroo Point which were awarded a RAIA Regional Commendation in 1998. Watermark is one of Brisbane’s best riverfront residential apartment buildings, consisting of 32 apartments in two towers. The apartments are a mix of two storey penthouses, full floor sub-penthouses, three-bedroom apartments and one two-bedroom apartments. The sweeping open plan layout includes floor to ceiling window and full length sliding doors and, full length three metre terraces to the river with “New York” style views of the central business district. A central full height void/split at the entrance between the towers provides a dramatic framed view of the city and swathes of natural light.

The master bedrooms command a central position in the apartments, maximising the panoramic views with full-width glass sliding doors opening directly onto the balcony. An underground carpark and a pool and recreation deck are incorporated at the lower river level. Wide hallways from the entryway through to the functional heart of the apartments evoke a sense of prestige and provide a gallery to display artworks.

Positioned to ensure the best in inner-city living, the Watermark Apartments are close to a number of transport options, including the ferry, bike paths, walking tracks, and major bus lines with direct routes to the city. The shops, restaurants, and entertaining precinct of Dockside are just minutes away, as is the CBD with its more extensive options.
